Awesome PC Games You Must Play – Top 25 Games of All Time

1) Batman : Arkham Asylum

This game  is simply awesome. Nobody is surprised why this game has won so many awards, are you surprised? If you are go get it and see why it is so awesome. Batman: Arkham Asylum uses a new free flow combat system. You can get by most of the time on the normal difficultly just mashing the attack button and tapping the counter button. It does a superb job of being a well rounded super-hero game that lets you become just like Batman.. While there are already maps packed in the game, additional maps have already been released as downloadable content. So you can increase your play time even more and ever get bored of it, atleast not soon.

2) Assassins Creed : Brotherhood

The Third Installment of the Assassin’s creed, Assassins Creed: Brotherhood is a game that I don’t need to provide any further information about. The complete game takes place in the Great Roman Empire’s capital. The first great thing about Brotherhood is the fact that Ezio is back. Ezio is now a leader of assassins, and the scale of this struggle has escalated. To take down Cesare Borgia, you now have to slink through the city of Rome itself. That brings us to the graphics of Brotherhood. It isn’t much different from the previous game, which is a good thing. Assassins Creed had amazingly gorgeous graphics, and Brotherhood boasts the same, with towering vistas, busy markets, labyrinthine citadels, and, wait for it, the Colosseum (sure, you can climb it) Rome feels so alive in this game, with people going about their daily routine and arguing and having a quarrel when you bump into them. The view of Rome becomes even more glorious as you climb the Towers of Borgia. I’d recommend everyone to try this game out. You won’t be disappointed. Let the killing begin.

3) Call of Duty : Black Ops

Activision’s Biggest monster has been unleashed. Call of Duty : Black Ops. Visually, Black Ops is fantastic. It brings you into the era of the game and looks extremely authentic. The game looks stunning, and features one of the best told stories in the entire COD series. Multiplayer is just what you would want out of a Call of Duty game, with interesting twist. Call of Duty multiplayer is back and in rare form. If you thought you were getting tired or bored with Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops will bring you right back into some new action. I can’t count how many times I’ve had enemies run right up to me, past three of my squad mates, and melee me to death.Earn COD points to boost your perks, and looks, and not depend sole on challenges and leveling. In short, what are you still waiting for?? Go get it.

4) Battlefield  : Bad Company II

Another epic FPS game – Battlefield: Bad Company II. Now avails new vehicles like the All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) and a transport helicopter allow for all-new multiplayer tactics on the Battlefield. With the Frostbite-enabled Destruction 2.0 system, you can take down entire buildings and create your own fire points by blasting holes through cover. You can also compete in four-player teams in two squad-only game modes, fighting together to unlock exclusive awards and achievements. Battles are set aboard expansive maps with lots of different terrains. The game also sees the return of the B Company squad in a more mature single-player campaign. Players choose from 15 authentically modeled vehicles, and a selection of 46 weapons that can be customized into over 200 different, high-powered firearms with over 15,000 possible kit variations. What else does a super soldier need to crush the opponent forces to dust?

5) Crysis 2

Possibly the best looking FPS game of the decade along with Gears of War, Halo Series and other games or in that case 2011. Neither paramilitary law enforcement nor the might of the US military machine can stand against the invaders, and all who choose not to flee are dead men walking.  Just to survive in this maelstrom of death will require technology beyond anything any modern soldier has ever seen. One man will inherit that means to survive. One super soldier, wielding the combat technology of the future with Nanosuit 2, will make the last stand to save humanity from destruction in the urban jungle that is New York City. And that’s Crysis. Its single-player campaign is even lengthier and more engrossing than the earlier installment in the series, but multiplayer is where the game has its real deals. You will be in control of the Nanosuit 2 and will be able to choose your abilities to use with your suit on the battlefield. The very feel of this game will take you to the next level, the environments, the objects, your weapons, everything is just so different from other FPS games and Crysis 2 will definitely make a bench-mark for the PC console games. And one more point to be noted is that the whole game is based in the New York City. The locations are real-life and perfectly fit the game. I completely recommend you to try this game without a second thought.

6) Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect 2 is an action role-playing game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts.In combat, players have regenerating health, but cannot heal themselves with medi-gel like in the first Mass Effect; however, medi-gel can still be used to revive downed squad mates. The ability to fire a weapon no longer relies on an overheating system; instead, ammunition is used.Ammunition is universal across most standard weapons, unlike in most other third person shooters where different weapons require specific ammunition.. The game is a sequel to Mass Effect, and the second game of the series. There are 19 different weapons divided into 6 types in Mass Effect 2, which is considerably less than in the first Mass Effect.Outstanding sound effects, never ending awards for this game.

 7) Dragon Age: Origins

Do you enjoy fantasy games? Or do series such as “Lord of the Rings” or perhaps “Dragon Warriors”  take your interest? Maybe you should try Bioware’s latest game Dragon Age Origins. In Dragon Age: Origins, take the role of a Grey Warden, one of the last of an ancient guardian order. As rising evil threatens to destroy life, players must unite the lands and slay the Archdemon. It will keep you entertained for many months. It maintains strong re playability with all the twists and turns that you’ll encounter throughout your travels. With all the Character choices, the possibility’s are endless. Although you’ll get the best performance with a computer. The game is great fun to play on whatever platform and his is definitely one of the best RPGs ever made.

8 ) Halo 2

Aliens behind you, aliens everywhere. Only you can stop them, just an amazing installment to the highly anticipated game of the series. High level of graphics detail. Responsive, action-packed game play.  The graphics themselves are significantly different from those of Halo 2. Covenant villains are more detailed, appearing more ominous and in some scenes, rather creepy and reptilian when compared to the furrier, slightly more cartoon type villains in legacy Halo titles. Great use of social networking to enhance multiplayer experience especially on the Xbox. Even peppier FPS action than Halo 3.The game overall seems to have a lot more pep. The FPS action is accurate and seems to be even more rapid-fire than its prequels. It’s sure to entice many new fans and will be the absolute delight of Halo loyalists.

9) Left 4 Dead 2

It’s hard to write Left 4 Dead 2 off as an expansion pack when the amount of new content is considered. Through five new campaigns, you can play through single-player, four player co-op, four versus four, four player Survival, and a new mode, Scavenger. Where standard campaign games are A-to-B affairs, Survival is an arena-based, beat-the-timer mode where you try to survive as long as you can against never ending waves of foes. Yet the new content keeps spilling out. Completely new weapons litter every campaign, from simple Sub-Machine Guns (SMGs), handguns and shotguns, to military sniper rifles, grenade launchers and magnum snipers. Also new are the melee weapons, Replacing your infinite ammo handgun, these implements of destruction are capable of moving through groups of Common Infected with little perspiration. In the end, the game is exactly what a sequel should be. It takes the original gameplay and then expands and refines it to create an almost unrecognizable successor. Every conceivable part of the game has been radically altered and fleshed out, and each change is an improvement. Valve is definitely the best FPS game maker in the world. I definitely recommend this game to you if want to add some spice into your games if you are fan of horror games

10) Need For Speed : Hot Pursuit

Here is one of my personal favorites. The NFS series has been going downhill ever since the NFS Most Wanted or maybe Carbon in the worst case scenario, the nadir of this franchise came with Undercover and Pro Street. Shift was a definite improvement, but the rush of older generation NFS editions was missing from all of them. NFS has forever been a high-adrenalin arcade-style racing game, but the balance EA Sports has struck between a pseudo-simulator and an over-the-top arcade racing is praiseworthy in Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. This game can be an old-fashioned arcade racing plain game for racers with simpler tastes, or it can be a hardcore-simulation for those who wish to feel an octane-rush through their veins. This definitely is a good comeback by EA- Sports after ruining the NFS franchise and disappointing millions of fans around the world by introducing Pro-Street (Yet again, not very convincing. It could have been a lot better if they stuck to the previous version gameplays). Anyway, The game is set in a fictional location named the Seacrest County. The roads are about 120miles that is four times grandeur than the earlier versions. The new feature “Autolog”, the social interaction gaming system, this feature lets racers get a feel of his status among his friends and other online gamers. Live multi-player includes up to 8 gamers, this feature also keeps a tab of the records and achievements. An experience system known as Bounty is included in the Autolog, the more the bounty, the better the racer(Similar to Most Wanted : Black Edition). The blazing fast, over the top racing and brilliant crashes makes this game simply a temptation hard to resist. Definitely a game that you shouldn’t miss.

11) Fallout : New Vegas

Fallout: New Vegas takes place a few years after the events of Fallout 3 with a completely new main character and story. This time your character is trying to find answers and maybe some revenge after he or she is shot in the head and left for dead in the Mojave Wasteland. the player assumes the role of a Courier who gets shot and left for dead for one reason or another and you set out to find out who shot you and why. One major change is the ability to play through “Hardcore Mode” which is offered once the user creates the player. Hardcore mode is crazy. Now Ammo carries weight, your player must stay hydrated, fed and rested otherwise, he/she will die or suffer serious consequences. There are even a race of different creatures and enemies to encounter and fight in the wastelands though I’m sure I haven’t seen all of them yet. If you want to go on a blood rage to pwn unlimited enemies, this game is definitely for you.

12) DiRT 2

In Dirt 2, you assume the role of an up-and-coming race driver who’s competing on the off-road circuit against such pros as Ken Block and Travis Pastrana for the first time. That’s right, the two world’s best motor sport professionals challenging you head on. This gives you something to race about doesn’t it. Dirt 2 isn’t as realistic as some of the other excellent off-road racers that have come before it, but it’s as accessible and exciting as any of them.Given how superb both the cars and the various environments they race through look, it’s impressive that the frame rate never drops below 30 frames per second.Good graphics, good sound and a really good gameplay. Definitely a game that will keep you stuck to your seat and make you play it.

 13) Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes From Liberty City

The game follows Niko Bellic, an Eastern European war veteran who comes to the United States in search of the American Dream, but quickly becomes entangled in a world of gangs, crime, and corruption. Like other games in the series. The open, non-linear environment allows players to explore and choose how they wish to play the game. Although storyline missions are necessary to progress through the game and unlock certain content and parts of the city, they are not required, as players can complete them at their own leisure. The best part of this game is that it offers multiplayer feature. So let the shooting frenzy begin.

14) Street Fighter IV

One of the most evolved games in video game industry. Street Fighter IV brings the legendary fighting series back to its roots by creating a truly extraordinary experience that will re-introduce the world to the time-honored art of virtual martial arts. It will totally re-vamp your total senses and will put your reflexes to the test. Definitely keeps you focussed.Street Fighter IV brings a brand new fighting game to fans the world over.Definitely deserves a spot in the list.

15) Bulletstorm

Bulletstorm takes place in the far flung space faring future, where humanity is in the grips of a civil war, kind of like Firefly. Built with the unreal engine, the combat is schlocky and satisfying, and the vistas are grand and beautiful. The game knows how to do monsters and there is a similar kind of (b)romance between Grayson and Ishi as there is between Marcus and Dom There are the evil confederates, rusty juddering space crafts and a fair few one liners. The game places you within the boots of Grayson Hunt, an exiled space pirate with a penchant for booze and an excessive use of bad language. Bulletstorm has been marketed as a colorful alternative to all the realistic modern warfare clones that are in touch at the moment and for the most part it does feel like a breath of fresh air when compared to its many competitors. Do play it.

16) Football Manager 2011

There is more than what meets the eye for what happens on the field. I say the real deal is what happens behind scenes where managing a football team becomes every bit challenging. Football Manager 2011 offers only incremental improvements, but Football Manager 2011 is one of the deepest, most engrossing and most played simulation games on PC. Re-vamped training system includes more basic training schedules and individual training focus where players can be in trained in 14 different skill areas. Plus, a new match preparation area, where you can get your team to concentrate on special focus areas, and train in specific tactics, in the lead up to a match. Reputation – a new feature meaning as teams get stronger and perform better on a continental level, the league they play in will also get stronger, attracting more players to want to play in the league and a more accurate modeling of the changing face of world football. I’m not much of a football player or a fan myself, I’m currently playing a season as Worcester City in the Blue Square North and I’m going well so far, top of the league and lost two games all season(One League and one in the FA Cup first round away at Crawley). No money so all signings are free transfers. But I’ve learned a lot from this game that I would have never learned in a hundred years. Definitely recommended game for the football fans

17) Starcraft 2

This space Odyssey adventure, sci-fi game will definitely sweep you off your feet. The original version of which DotA( Defense of the Ancients) was based on has certainly carved a base for the latest games like Heroes of Newerth, League of Legends , DotA, DotA 2 etc. You can totally understand that Starcraft is the mother of all games. Various plays, ton’s of online players and many improvements in the gameplay, Starcraft 2 has way better graphics and various improvements compared to the previous installment. This game is based on the Tower Defense, that is you have to defend your empire from the opponent forces and similarly crush the opponents empire and likewise. The single-player is also relatively non-linear. While the first and last three missions are totally linear, the missions in the middle are divided into story arcs. Each story arc is linear, but you can play the latest mission from any story arc at any time. I say it’s a mind spoiler and highly addictive, go get it.

18) Machinarium

Enter Machinarium, a point-and-click adventure from 2009 by Amanita Design, a Czech-Republic based studio whose other works include indie hits like Samarost, as well as music videos and a puppet feature film. It can be played by all ages and all categories of gamers. Though this game is based entirely on puzzles and mazes, just the handmade art of this game accelerates this game to another level. Just the Dimensions are beyond any other puzzle games. Machinarium’s length is very suited to its style of gameplay, as it never forces itself to make the player feel overwhelmed or lost. This is a point-and-click adventure for everyone. It’s balanced just right and doesn’t make any sacrifices. Despite my general hesitancy towards this genre, I did play this game quite a lot of times and found myself addicted to it till i completed it. Don’t go by the looks of it from the screen-shot. It might look a little cheesy from the outside, but it is a game that you can fancy. I can definitely recommend Machinarium.

19) League Of Legends

Built using the same principles as the wildly popular Defense of the Ancients (DotA) mod for Warcraft III, League of Legends gives each player control of a powerful hero unit in a team-based epic battle to crush each other’s bases. Real-time strategy elements, like AI controlled foot soldiers and turrets, and role playing features, like leveling abilities and buying better equipment, provide lots of variety and flexibility. The highly inventive champions are clearly the best part of the game. The developers have created something around 42 different heroes you can choose from, from brutes to nimble archers to stealth assassins. The visual style is very charming, so you’ll see mad scientists, giant robots, jesters, little girls with dolls, big-headed mummies, rock giants all fighting it out with explosive and colorful visual effects. It might look like a fantasy game but the visual effects and the graphics are what you can fancy about in this game.

20) World Of Warcraft : Cataclysm

This game is for all those of you all who are already familiar with the World of Warcraft. With the release of Cataclysm, the level cap has been raised from 80 to 85. Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms have been redesigned with a changed appearance and some new towns. The quest system has been refreshed with almost 3500 new quests along with new and streamlined low and mid-level quests to complement the redesigned areas of Azeroth. One of the primary features of Cataclysm is the redesign of the continents of Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor introduced with the launch of World of Warcraft. A highly addictive game, made lots of my buddies get addicted and stuck to the computer for days or for worse one of them has been admitted even in a hospital for his negligence to health. I’d definitely recommend this game to you but watch out for your addiction over it.

21) Diablo 2

One of the most exhilarating demonic games ever played is definitely Diablo 2. Though its similar to its prequel, the added visual effects , gameplay, blood and the kind of tension a player builds during the game will definitely make this and extra-ordinary game. The journey starts across distant lands, fight new villains, discover new treasures, and uncover ancient mysteries, all in the quest to stop the Lord of Terror, once and for all. If there’s one thing that sums up my obsession with Diablo 2, it’s the Horadric Cube. It’s a magic box. You put certain things in it and better things come out. You will learn different item builds during this game and your skill to build up your inventory will surpass you and make you stronger and keep you going. Diablo 2 is going to get you down to hell.

22) Age of Empires II

Now let’s talk about the best strategy game ever made. No other game has ever dominated my subconscious like AoE II did while I was in middle and high school. The fold-out tech tree included in the game box was hidden inside every text book I brought to class. Build orders were more closely guarded than lunch money amongst my friends. I still remember using the chat numbers of the game in regular chats and see people think what a freak I am. Especially “Monk! I need a monk!” I spammed this voice command so many times at a LAN party that I ended up crying with laughter. It’s perfect rock-paper-scissors balance, diverse types of civilization bonuses, and the thrill of taunting my best friend as Huskarls rushed his base–these are the true joys of youth. Although Age of Empires III made a good mark, too much of visual effects ruined the game a bit. Age of Empires II has the perfect balance and the perfect Gameplay. You’re good at strategy? Then this game is definitely for you.

23) War Hammer40,000 : Dawn of War II

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (also known as WAR) is Mythic’s latest 3D Fantasy MMORPG. WAR is even more PvP centered than Mythic’s previous title, DAoC. Players must join either the realm of Order or Chaos, each with three unique races and classes. The graphics and gameplay are similar to Blizzard’s mega hit World of Warcraft but have a much more realistic feel. The game’s story centers on the ongoing conflict between the realms of Order (Dwarves, High Elves, The Empire) and Chaos (Dark Elves, Greenskins, Chaos.) It is very much Similar to World of Warcraft, if you’re one of those WoW fans. I suggest get your hands on this game for something with a different taste.

24) Bejeweled 3

Alright enough of games that deal with shooting stuff, blood and gore. Let’s talk something plain and smooth. What’s plain and smooth?? It’s Bejeweled 3, gets any hardcore gamer stuck to it and makes them want to beat it. It’s not an easy game; player must match a row or column of the same kind of jewels of same color. Sounds easy eh? Cheeky mind. This is an advanced version of Tetris. Tetris ruled the late 20th century. Now bejeweled is the mother of all puzzle games in the 21st century. You get eight different game modes here, including a quest mode that itself contains 11 minor variants. Not every one of them is a hit, but most add new goals and mechanics that are just as addictive as the ones in the original Bejeweled.

25) Minecraft

Whoa!! Hold on; don’t let the cheesy image disregard you about this game. Minecraft is the ultimate sandbox game. Everything in its world is yours to build, destroy, or reshape to your liking. Minecraft revolves around one simple principal: survival. The game is split into day and night cycles. During the day, you spend time gathering resources, whether it is searching for ore, digging holes, fishing or planting crops. Night is spent either indoors, mining underground tunnels, building tools or running around outside being chased by monsters. Pretty interesting huh? Try it out folks; there is a reason why it is listed here. It’s just plainly awesome.
These are the list of games you should never miss playing atleast once in your life time. T
